Summary
Slate hadn't even considered romance possible at this stage in the game. Let alone with someone so much younger than themself.
An unlikely romance blossoms.
WARNING: some heavy petting under the page break. Skip if it makes you uncomfortable.
Oh, and I've named the Hatchling Regolith, Reg (as in leg, peg, beg (lol) not 'Redge'), for short.

Summary
Gossan and Slate always argued, but it never used to be so vindictive.
Feldspar was determined to make their hatchlinghood dream to go to space a reality. Enlisting the help of their friends; Gossan, a drill operator in the mines; Slate, the village's emerging engineer; Hornfels, the newest director of the Observatory; and Esker, a tree-keeper of few words; they worked to create Timber Hearth's first—and only—space program. The tribulations of such a monumental endeavor bound the five of them together. None of them anticipated how easily everything would come undone when Feldspar was gone.

Summary

Summary
“Hey, I thought I might see you before the big launch,” you call out as they approach you. “Nerves getting the better of you?”
They don't reply, just... look at you for a while. They slowly scan over your clothes, your hands, your face, lingering at your scarred eye.
You arch a brow at them. “Need something, hatchling?”
Eventually, they settle within themself, square their shoulders, and look at you. “Think you can give me a hand with something for a minute?”
or - a series of goodbyes that didn't stick.

Summary
The light of the exploding singularity is brighter than anything Obsidian has ever imagined. Breathtaking as a spark of hope when they thought everything was lost. Obsidian would know, they'd worn that feeling like a second skin, loop, after loop, after loop. The feeling still holds them even as pure light, pure possibility, consumes them. Then, nothing.
Obsidian wakes up…
