This is the heartwarming, tragic, then heartwarming retelling of a love story between a top-of-the-line, high tech Visually Optimized Xenohabitat (Vox) aquarium and some goth girl’s weird-looking cat (Alastor).
Did I rewrite my Supernatural “Sam and Dean are Aquariums and Castiel is a Fish” fic for Hazbin Hotel? No. The term is “inspired by,” thank you very much.

'The first notes ring out and he recognises the song instantly: La Vie En Rose. Unmistakeable, even when the pianist is hesitant at first, feeling his way along in the dark. And then...Vox starts singing. Softly, in French. In perfect French. Alastor is only human. When Vox turns that smile toward him again, singing a love song in perfect fucking French, he has to feign coughing into his hand to hide the telling red colour on his face.'
Alastor owns the only jazz club in town, Blanché. Vox is a self-identified crazy person looking to make a career as a musician. When Alastor hires someone a little different to bring in a new crowd, he finds he may have bitten off more than he can chew.
