Remus gulps, slowly opening the seal and pulling the letter from the envelope. He wasn’t sure what to expect from Sirius Black, but it certainly wasn’t this.
Scrawled there on the page were three words that he’d been mulling over in his head for the past two days he spent in his parents home. Written in that infuriatingly pristine cursive was a phrase that he knew upended his world once again.

Of all the things he did and didn’t prepare for, you would think he would have the wherewithal to pack an umbrella for a trip to fucking Wales. But nope, apparently he’d forgotten that too. Left it somewhere back in London with his dignity.
He was sure he must have abandoned all thoughts of respectability coming back here in the first place, but it wasn’t like he felt he could go anywhere else.
“If you ever lose your way, you can come back here. I’ll be here if you come running, I promise. You’ll always have somewhere in this world to call home, no matter how far you are.”
Sirius feels tears well up in his eyes. How he hoped that was the truth.
