He sighed, hand lowering to tangle in the blanket. “If I am to be kept alive, then surely I should be spending the rest of my life in Stillwater. And we both know it probably won’t be for too long anyway.” He shrugged, finding he couldn’t look Jayce in the eye anymore.
Jayce stared at him, eyes wide and blinking in shock, processing his partner's words. “Alright, first of all, you’re right, I’m not being stupid. You are.” Viktor blinked, not entirely expecting that. “If you can’t see that this wasn’t your fault, you’re not the brilliant mind I thought you were.”
Or: Act 3 absolutely destroyed me and this is how I cope. I explored Viktor's guilt and Jayce's big fucking heart.

Viktor makes a horrible sound, some trapped and glazed look in his eyes, like Jayce is killing him again.
