Summary
Set when the ships are iced-in near Beechey Island, pre-canon in the winter of 1845-46. This fic contains a selection of the notices that are put up on the ships' notice boards - the banal ones, the passive-aggressive ones, the pranks and the ones containing (at times accidental) innuendo.
Though this fic is ongoing, chapters are self-contained and non-linear.

**Note: this fic is now "complete" in that I've published all of the bits I wrote for it a couple of years ago. I was originally going to add more "plot" then additional chapters on an ad hoc basis, but life and other projects caught up with me. There's a gap/jump between chapter 1 and chapter 2 but the chapters are perfectly enjoyable by themselves. I don't plan on writing more for this fic though.**

Summary
Pre-canon, John Bridgens has carved out a quiet, predictable life for himself. Until he meets fellow transmasc sailor Harry Peglar, who takes an immediate interest in him and eventually manages to break down the walls that John has built around himself.
Post-rescue, Tom Hartnell realises how much he needs the support of his best friend, after a few difficult months spent with his family. As Tom's life becomes intertwined with Harry and John's, it becomes harder to ignore his long-held love for Harry, and the new feelings he has for John.

Summary
Edward Little has lived his life the way he thought he was supposed to. He went to a good university, got a good job as the head of PR at Erebus men’s magazine, and bought a home. He blames the fact that he hans’t dated since university on the fact that he doesn’t have time and not the fact that it terrifies him, and spends what little free time he has trying to pretend he isn’t miserable.
His neighbour Thomas Jopson has lived his life the only way he knows how. He fought his way from a childhood in foster care into a degree and a career that he loves, spending his days doing social work and his evenings volunteering with a local nonprofit supporting queer youth in the foster system. He plans his days down to the second, hardly allowing himself time for anything outside of work and sleep, but he is, at least mostly, satisfied.
When Edward’s boss is quoted saying something homophobic, it’s Edward’s job to clean up the mess, which leads him to the nonprofit that Thomas volunteers with. This new connection has the potential to turn both Edward and Thomas’ lives upside down. If only the two of them actually liked each other.

Summary
Harry wakes up on the sofa of John's flat, the reminder of the night before sour in his mouth, wishing he had woken up in John's bed instead.
Soon the timer will ping and they will have to pull apart from where they are rocking together, lazily dancing to the faint strains of whatever record John’s put on to fill in the gasping silence of the January Sunday.
For now John's hand is heavy in the centre of his back, pulling him closer as if they could fuse into one body, meeting somehow into a perfect circle. Harry lets himself be tucked neatly in, letting his arms fall from where they were slung around John’s neck to curl around his chest. When he rests his cheek against John’s shoulder he can feel the thrum of his heart through his shirt.
