It had been five years, but the pain had not dulled at all. Sometimes, Ochaco wished Toga really did die that day. That way, all she would have to do is mourn. She wouldn’t have that stupid itch of hope. She would have grieved in peace years ago and been able to move on. Maybe she would be able to love somebody else. But she could never move on with the lingering questions of what happened to Toga.
What no one knew was there was a basement to her agency. A secret room with piles and piles of evidence to find Toga. There were corkboards with hundreds of stray pictures, newspaper clippings, and big red lines drawn to endless conclusions. But Ochaco never got an answer. There were stories of murders all over the country, of course. Only a few stray ones caught her eye, as possibilities. Just a sliver of a chance that it was Toga holding the knife. But nothing ever close by, and nothing big enough to make her motivated.

Alternate ending where Toga doesn't die when transferring blood to Ochaco and just runs away. Ochaco spends years trying to find Toga, feeling incomplete without her while everyone else goes on to live happy lives. All until one day when Toga decides she wants to be found.

Witchhazel Road was a quiet community in Westview, New Jersey. The lawns on all the houses were flush and green, painted with beautiful flowers in all colors of the rainbow. Hell, the houses themselves were all colors of the rainbow, as well, if not in the correct rainbow order.
The first house on the left, for instance, was a tall Victorian, painted a deep, forest green, its lawn more well-trimmed than most in the neighborhood–hell, in the entire state of New Jersey. Outside, in the garden, kneeled Mrs. Sharon Davis, the widowed, formerly-famous lead of her own sitcom, The Harts. Some of her neighbors still refused to call her by her given name.
“Yoohoo, Mrs. Hart!”
Sharon sighed. Agatha.
