Steve quickly learned that it was easy to explain away a missing kid who—by almost all accounts—was already invisible. At least until he was unceremoniously dragged into babysitting three middle school boys intent on finding their lost friend.
And for better or for worse, on November 7th, 1983, Steve Harrington also disappeared.

Summary
It always gets bad around this time of year. The cool fall weather sits in his bones. Makes them ache, making past injuries become alive again. Memories resurface. Things Steve really doesn’t want to think about while rinsing his mouth out in the porcelain sink in the dingy bathroom of a video rental store.
Steadying his breath, Steve looks up into the water stained mirror contemplating what he sees. His hair has grown out again, light curls stuck to the back of his sweat-soaked neck. He couldn’t be bothered to go get it cut. The dark circles that frame his deep set brown eyes are a testament to the endless nightmares and sleep paralysis. It’ll get better. He knows it’ll get easier as the days and weeks go on. Just a few more weeks.. than it’ll be the holiday season and can have an excuse to see people more. He’s been through this before. The kids will be off, they will be able to blast Christmas movies and tell him all about their high school antics.

Starts in October 1985. Mostly a fic about the gaps in between the seasons. Steve's pov mostly. Dealing with trauma both physical and mental. Eventual smut I swear.
