And Sam just.

Bucky"s icy blue eyes cloud, searching Sam"s. His grin weakens little by little with each passing second Sam hesitates. It feels like.
It feels like there"s something-
The words come out faster than he can stop them.
“Yeah. Fine.”

Bucky chuckles at his word choice. “You’re not a prisoner, you know.”
Sam grunts, like he wants to argue, but instead he closes his eyes. Poor man’s probably exhausted, between falling asleep late last night, waking up early today, and having to deal with such a sudden life change. Sure, it"s not his first rodeo. But it"s not something to take for granted how well Sam is cooperating with all of them. Handsome, kind and trusting. Bucky can"t take his eyes off him. Sam"s practically laid out, all defenses down, almost relaxed in the presence of someone he barely knows.
He admires Sam"s strength and courage. He hopes to take a piece for himself. Maybe it’ll do him some good, after this is all over.
“Take a picture, it"ll last longer.” Sam opens one eye, but Bucky doesn"t look away. He pushes past the flirt, knowing if he entertains it.
Well.
He"s an opportunistic man, if anything.
Or, Bucky"s old life tracks him down to Chinatown, NYC, and Sam kind of throws a wrench into things.

Tears pricked at the corner of his eyes, not wanting to approach his partner in fear of whatever the fuck that was happening again. He had too though. Bucky was out cold, and if he awoke with the same feral mentality, how could he ever make it home by himself? Sam couldn"t abandon his partner, not after everything. He had to make sure Bucky got home safe, that they turn Bucky back on and turn off whatever this...animal was. It had to be fixable. He had to get Bucky back.
Sam searched his pockets for anything of use to restrain Bucky, while radioing Torres.
“Torres, come in.” Sam sniffed, spitting again as he found handcuffs that would have to be adequate for now.
“Cap? What"s wrong? Why do you sound sick?”
He snapped the metal around Bucky’s wrists, behind his back before moving on to tie his feet.
“Bucky’s compromised. I need-”
“What!?”
“There was some type of gas, he saved me, and I found him, but he must’ve inhaled a fuck ton because he…attacked me.” Close enough, although Sam was essentially unscathed. Would it be duress if he was emotionally but not physically scarred?
Or, Bucky get"s exposed to a long lasting "love" potion. Feelings become harder to hide.

Despite gently cradling his face, Sam went as far as slapping Bucky, hard. Any moment, despite his face smeared with unnatural amounts of blood even for a super soldier, Buck would scowl at Sam. Ouch, he would say. Bucky would threaten to slap Sam too, only to pull him into a brief hug as reassurance. He would. He had to.
He didn"t even blink.
"Bucky, p-p-please, we aren"t done… "
"...we"re not done yet…"
"Bucky...BUCK-"
"SAM!"
Bucky gasped his name.
Only three pants in catching his breath, he immediately quieted upon seeing he was in complete pitch black darkness, on what felt like a cold, wet, grimy concrete floor.
Something is wrong. Something is very, very wrong.

“I guess I’ve gained quite the reputation in some circles.” Orion said as he thickly swallowed the rest of high-grade clinging to his glossa. “I’m experienced, even if I may not look the part.” Megatronus hummed, seemingly pleased with the answer. Orion wasn’t in the habit of discussing his private life with strangers or colleagues, especially considering what said part of his private life pertained to, but the expression on the gladiator’s face was void of judgment, and he allowed himself to relax.
“We really do have the same profession. I wouldn’t have guessed.” Megatronus said, lying back on the couch of the crappy bar. The scraping sound of well used iron-furniture made Orion grimace.
Or, Megatronus, a gladiator working on the side as a hitman, and Orion Pax, an archivist and sugar baby, misunderstand each other as having the same job when they get hired to infiltrate a Senator"s party.

Vividly, his best friend"s marching back resembled one of a much taller, dangerous frame, before Orion managed to clasp his arms around D-16 in a tackle.
“Agh! Pax!” D grunted, almost tipping over but steadying himself. Cycles of practice by being Orion pax bestfriend. He faced Orion with bewilderment, as if he didn’t expect Orion to go after him.
“Please,” Orion tightened his hold, begging, “talk to me.”
The Matrix decides to play cupid, and shove the two in a makeshift closet, which is essentially a dream world of their own.
It would take a whole more than that to make peace together, but it was a start.
