When Uther Pendragon falls sick, it is upon Arthur to take care of Camelot as Regent while his father recovers. He uncovers a potential coup by the Lords of Camelot and has to protect his kingdom from their misplaced desire for change. Arthur struggles with protecting his kingdom from his father and protecting his father from his kingdom.

Summary
Arthur had thought Merlin was his equal—after all, allowing a manservant to insult his prince, sometimes in public, was the highest nod towards a strong friendship between the two—but then he learns about Merlin’s magic. After the initial surge of disbelief and hurt, he comes to the jarring realisation that their relationship wasn’t truly equal after all. Arthur, unable to think of anything else that could not jeopardise Merlin’s existence in Camelot while equilibrising their relationship at the same time, he decides to let Merlin go from his services. Even though a small part of him had hoped that Merlin would be against it, joke around it and stick with Arthur. But when Merlin takes the offer and flees at first light back to Elador, Arthur is left with a lot of conflicting feelings. Perhaps, they never really truly did have a friendship.
But sometimes, destiny is a choice.

Honestly, they’re kind of disgustingly perfect for each other and Dean’s pretty damn excited about staying with them the week before the wedding. He’s Sam’s best man, of course, and he doesn’t even mind that Jess has her own best man to share in all the organisational duties. The more the merrier, right?
Except Dean must have done something to epically piss off the universe because Jess’s best man just happens to be Castiel friggin’ Novak.
