It's then that Wise gets his wires crossed, distracted as he is by petting Inky while running on low sleep due to his insomnia. Instead of saying "thank you" like a normal person would, when he takes the pouch from Lighter's hand, he ends up saying,
"Good boy."
Lighter freezes.
Wise blinks, eyeing the sudden pause.
Then he thinks.
And—
"Oh," he stammers, flustered. "I didn't mean—sorry, I got distracted petting Inky. I meant 'thank you', not…not that."
Wise and Lighter hang out after watching a film together in Wise's room. Shenanigans ensue.

“This is an inane discussion,” Soren said. “I’m coming with you, and that’s final.”
He took a step forward and swayed.
If Ike reached out and shoved with one finger, he was sure he could topple Soren right over. He kept his arms folded so he wouldn’t be tempted to try and make a point.
“I’m still your commander, aren’t I?” Ike asked, raising his eyebrows. “You still trust me to make decisions?”
“Yes, but, Ike –” he said.
“Then you’ll do as I say, for the good of the company,” Ike said. “I won’t risk you. You’re too important.”
He stepped close, adjusting the hood of Soren’s cloak. He lowered his voice so he wouldn’t be heard by Shinon and Gatrie, waiting up by the gate.
“Go back to bed,” he said, his voice gentler. “I’ll be home soon.”

Post-Path of Radiance, Ike and Soren share a promise, a first kiss, and a bed. Not in that order.

He doesn’t have the opportunity to try and translate it, either; Boris’s arm reaches out and closes over Theo’s torso. He pulls him, shifting forward himself, still muttering (though now it sounds Polish).
