The claws were coming out; he’d struck a nerve. With a cruel smile, he responded, “All you have in life is work, which isn’t worth much if your programs go on the chopping block. Despite your accolades, the Ministry doesn’t love you or your work, leaving you unfulfilled. And now you’re desperate.” He motioned to the crowd. “To be filled, that is.”
“So the solution to all my problems is a magical dick of fulfillment? The penis as a metaphor now?” She snorted. “Sounds like the plot of every terrible romance I’ve had the misfortune of reading.”
