Jon Snow has been through a lot and being stabbed to death by his own men broke something within him and allowed him to rise up once more, both figuratively and literally.
When Jon Snow meets Sansa again, he is not fool enough to trust her without question, and when Ramsay sends the letter to provoke him, he does not march for her and never risks the Free Folk's safety for his selfish desires.
Oh, and he also has a 5 year old son named Harkani, who he had with a wildling woman.
