He doesn’t know that Bilbo would not leave his door open on just any night for just any guests, nor that there is only one that Bilbo would worry about stealing from him.Kíli and Bilbo (and Tauriel) get a chance to do things again. And then again. And then again. Eventually they'll get it right. Right?

Sauron eyed the hand held out to him but took it in the end. His feet felt unsteady under him. His head spun. He let go the second he was upright and standing on his own. “I do not understand you. At all.”

“Oh I do believe it,” Sauron muttered. He fell into step with them, the half – the hobbit on one side, the elf on the other. He did not know why it felt...easier to walk with each step he took. Why it felt easier to breathe. “I dislike you both. Intensely.”

Dwalin is sent back in time after an unfortunately long life. When he saves Prince Frerin's life, Dwalin has no idea where King Thrain disappears nor who will shelter him. When the Company arrives at Bag End, their welcome will be far warmer than they could have anticipated.
