“Yeah,” Eddie involuntarily agrees. “She also said my life would be irreparably different and that I’d been through a huge fucking trauma.”
“Don’t think she used—”
“And what the fuck am I supposed to do, Mike? Go to some shitty support group for divorced men, or disabled men or- or what? Men who’ve been victimized by a weird fucking space clown? Cause I don’t think those exist.”
“No one is suggesting that, I’m actually suggesting—”
“I know what you’re suggesting, Mike. And it’s a huge fucking decision.”
Mike clears his throat. “It is.” He pauses. “And I gotta say, Eddie, I think the fact that you’re fighting me so hard on it is because you think it might be the right one.”

Richie shifted on the couch, his eyes wandering back over to the TV.
“I mean, yeah?”
His answer was so quiet Eddie almost didn’t hear him.
“So you’ve...you’ve never kissed anyone just because? No leading to anything else?”
“No, Eds, I’ve never kissed anyone ‘just because’ or without it leading to sex,” he murmured eventually, his tone giving nothing away. “But whatever, I don’t care.”

"Of course, once he notices Eddie, he’ll wake up and start talking a thousand miles a minute, effectively ruining the illusion. But in this suspended, silent moment, Eddie can’t help but stare at him, holding his breath as if the sound alone might wake him. He watches as Richie’s head lolls to one side, exposing his neck to more sunlight. The comic wobbles again, appearing as if it might fall to his lap at any given moment. Eddie has half a mind to take it out of his hands and remove his glasses too, just for good measure. Knowing Richie, he’d probably stayed up way too late playing games on his Super NES. He’s about to move forward and do exactly that when the comic shifts again, this time slipping out of his hands and falling onto his upper thighs.
After that, Eddie promptly stops thinking, too shocked to do anything but look.
The thing is that Eddie has never seen a dick before."

He glances around the table waiting for everyone else to join in, but they just watch the two interact the same way you’d watch the horizon when you hear a storm was rolling in. “It was just a joke, Eddie. Guess you can’t take one of those either, just like your mom can’t take my–”
“Wow,” Eddie interrupts, adopting a sickly-sweet tone. He slowly puts his fork down and clasps his hands together in front of his lunch tray, sending a forced smile in Richie’s direction. “You must be an excellent lover.”
or: Eddie accepts a dare to compliment Richie a hundred times, not knowing that along the way he’ll discover how much he likes it when Richie degrades him in return – maybe a little too much.
