“Okay, I did some research with Luz about how to take care of people when they’re sick.” Hunter explained
Darius watches as Hunter hands him a water bottle and pulls out a strange device. Darius gratefully accepts the water bottle and raises an eyebrow at the device.
“What is that?” He asked and Hunter handed it to him.
“A- A humidifier. It’s supposed to, like, help. When you’re sick. Especially when you’re congested.” Hunter explained and then nodded at it. “It’s supposed to clear up your sinuses. And stuff... Or something.”

Or, Darius gets sick and is miserable about it for like five minutes until Hunter steps in to take care of his dad.

Back when he was still married and spent most of his time in his own head, he hadn’t had that luxury. But being a happily divorced father with a loving partner, he now had the privilege of having his time and thoughts filled up with people he loved. He didn’t usually have time to think about them or the unpleasant memories that came along.
Not usually.

Summary
When Darius is oddly sleeping in very late, Hunter and Eberwolf decide to wake him up. Immediately, Darius finds himself to be rather ill, with strip throat no less, and there's no doubt he caught it from Hunter, who had it not too long ago. With Darius out of commission, there is no one to cook meals, leaving Hunter to make small things for himself, but he quickly notices Eberwolf doesn't appear to be so lucky. It seems he only eats critter food that only Darius can make and has nothing to eat. With guilt overtaking Hunter for getting Darius sick, he vows to do anything he can to make him better so Eberwolf can eat, even if it's to his own detriment.

When Hunter heads to his potions study group with Edric and Luz, Luz explains that Edric couldn't make it because he had to get his wisdom fangs removed. Hunter quickly realizes that he has the early symptoms for his wisdom fangs to grow in and knows that to get them removed, he must undergo a major surgery. However, Hunter has barely ever received much medical treatment from doctors in his entire life, so the idea of something as major as surgery freaks him out… and what makes his anxiety even worse is the fact that doctors aren't trained to understand the bodies of grimwalkers.
