“This can not be happening,” said Lan Jingyi when he was finally able to lift his jaw up off the ground. “I can’t be witnessing this. This can’t be real.”
“Oh, Jingyi, don’t be so stuck up! I think it’s romantic.” Murmured Ouyang Zizhen, sighing wistfully as he dropped his head into his hands and stared starry-eyed over at the sect leader who was now only one wrongly-placed step away from toppling over the bar and breaking his haughty little neck.
“It’s not romantic!” Whisper-shouted Lan Jingyi, shooting a glance over at his companion as he bemoaned. “This isn’t one of your romance stories, Zizhen, this is Lan Sizhui and Jin Ling. It’s horrible! A flock-of-ravens-coming-down-and-scratching-out-your-eyes horrible! Rather suffer death-by-a-thousand-cuts level of horrible!”
Wei Wuxian takes the juniors out to celebrate and Jin Ling gets so drunk he confesses his feelings for Lan Sizhui, much to Lan Jingyi's dismay.
Or, after witnessing his friends fall in love, Lan Jingyi starts to question his own feelings for once.

Summary
Curiously, Jingyi ran his fingers over the stick shift. To him, it looked like a rubbery mountain–the material worn and old at the top from oils and sweat. There weren’t any labels, which was to be expected. Lan Xichen had a Subaru–Jingyi remembers his father pouring over articles about safe cars. Theirs was the kind of car with the fancy new, no key ignition thing, and instead of a stick shift all you had to do was press a button. Pretty cool, pretty futuristic.
He stared at the stick shift. It looked as though the car would go forward if he pressed on the gas pedal.
Slowly, ever so slowly, he began to press down on the gas. Then, the sound of a very loud, very startling noise broke out–it was the trunk closing– and Jingyi jumped out of his skin.
And pressed down on the gas.
Very hard.
The car lurched backwards.
There was a big, ominous thump and Jingyi pulled his leg off–forehead almost slamming into the dashboard. Mind blank with panic, he sat ramrod straight with his hands white knuckled on the wheel. White noise burned his ears, and he was only focused on one thing.
He probably hit Xue Yang with a stolen car.
