Summary
The first thing he noticed inside the dream was that he was warm. Not because of the blanket, but something else. In a way it alarmed him, so his breath hitched. His body couldn"t help but recoiled in a way that showed discomfort despite the lack of alarm he felt. He hadn"t had physical contact for years- but he would still know how it felt no matter how much time passed.
The touch did not insist. It let go of him, and in the same, dark dream of his- he heard a voice speaking to him. Quiet. Gentle.
"Shh.. What"s wrong?" A male voice. Honeyed. Sweet.
He was curious. Who was this?
".. Who..?"
The touch returned. A hand grasped him delicately, and his knuckles were kissed while his muscles tensed. The affection in the gesture was undeniable. In the back of his mind he thought that he had wasted too much time watching romance movies. So frequently that it came to haunt him in his dreams.

Hua Cheng was approached by a man in the dark of his dreams. He decided to make him his muse.

Summary
Hua Cheng, a rather famous leader of a bandit, stole something he shouldn"t have which somehow led him into being the crown prince of Xian Le"s sole concubine to save his sister"s life from a deadly curse.

Hua Cheng kneels, head hanging low and complexion still. It is not that he is afraid, it"s just that after years of living, he has learnt to be intelligent. Clever enough to analyze the situation, do as it suffice, abide and object when the time is right.
"Why so far away? Come closer."
When he is in this situation, however, kneeling with his head resting against the prince"s lap, he doesn"t feel quite right.
Hua Cheng has learnt by living for years and for the first time in a while, he feels like he is doing his part wrongly.

So he jumps.
Or Xie Lian can"t bare the sight of Hua Cheng left looking so sad as he stands in his burning manor so, instead of returning to heaven with the others, he jumps back down to try to make things right. Only when he gets there he finds Hua Cheng deep in his own self loathing for having hurt Xie Lian.

Xie Lian bites the inside of his cheek to keep from breaking right then and there. A warm tear rolls down his cheek.
This isn"t the first soldier he"s stayed with to their dying breath, but it hurts every time. Every single time the prince"s heart would bleed, wishing that he could save the people he swore to protect.
"It"s going to be okay," he repeats, thumb stroking the rapidly cooling cheek.
