Summary
It wasn’t like Akira hadn’t dealt with that before, his whole life he’d been labeled as a delinquent. Ever since he was a kid defending his friend on the playground or snapping at teachers who had no respect for their students. When you’re categorized that young as a lost cause, nothing can change it. Akira learned to embrace it, using people"s fear of him to get them to leave him alone, staying out late, even picking up smoking. Teachers gave up on him (not that they tried to begin with), his peers learned to avoid him, the police got tired of him.
At some point, not even Akira’s parents could deal with him, so when they practically jumped at the idea to ship him off to Tokyo and some random guy’s attic, he wasn’t surprised in the least.
All that didn’t mean the comments about him didn’t hurt, and Sojiro was the worst with it.
