Summary
Spymaster Sarutobi Hiruzen has passed away, leaving his secret task force (SATS), led by Hatake Kakashi since his son's death 3 years prior, one last mission: to hide an item left in a safe deposit box from the dangerous and power-hungry Overseer of Training, potential successor and heir of all the possessions, Shimura Danzō.
The team, soon to be commanded by Danzō himself, has 4 days to accomplish the mission before they are considered rogue agents. But nothing is what is seems when they have no idea what it is that they have to protect and why.

That lazy kid was gone. Almost half a year passed, Konoha was attacked and destroyed. Many lost their lives. The Akatsuki leader, thanks to Naruto, brought everyone back to life, and to everyone's surprise, he brought back everyone the Akatsuki had killed, including Asuma.

Summary
This is an on-going series set after the events of Naruto Shippuden anime, about 3 years following the 4th Shinobi war.
The world could finally enjoy some peace (for most part). Kakashi is now Hogake and Yamato continued as a special ANBU, responsible for keeping track of Orochimaru.
The main story, Soldier On, follows Kakashi, now Hogake, and Yamato, who continued as a special ANBU, responsible for keeping track of Orochimaru. Despite their feelings, they can't help the damaged caused to them by their past, but try to accept they too can be more than just Konoha soldier. There are 2 complete parts to this main branch.
Sweet Disposition is a spinoff that happens parallel to the main branch. This follows the relationship between Genma and Iruka and stems from Soldier On Part 2 Chapter 12.

Kakashi wasn’t altogether sad that they had been forced to shelter and therefore delay their arrival back in Konoha. Tenzō didn’t know it yet, but this was to be their last mission together. Kakashi hadn’t yet begun to process how his life and his routines would change but the one thing he was certain of was that he was going to miss Tenzō terribly. Thinking about breaking the news to him, which he had resolved to do sooner rather than later, was causing him more anxiety than he had felt in years. He had no idea what to say.
It isn’t my choice, he thought as he listened to Tenzō bathing behind him. I wouldn’t leave you willingly.
