The last three years have been nothing short of perfect. Alex has a dream, a plan, and the person he wants to spend the rest of his life with, all finally right within his reach. Things are easy, these days. He’s trying not to get so caught up in the finer details.
Like the fact that he hasn’t met his soon-to-be fiance’s family yet. Or the fact that everyone seems to act really odd around his grandmother. Or the fact that Henry’s not actually out to his family yet, and neglects to tell him this until they’re already off the plane and nearly to their house.
But it’s only four days, so it's fine. It's all fine.

Alex traces the invisible line of Orion's belt with his gaze when Henry says it's his favorite, feeling the awe and wonder seeping into him from the place where his shoulder touches Henry's arm.
There is a flash of light across the sky, quick and bright, and Arthur gasps, pointing excitedly.
“Make a wish, boys,” he urges, his eyes closing like he might be taking his own advice.
Alex lets his eyes drift shut, the back of his knuckles brushing the side of Henry's hand as he takes a breath and wishes for the only thing he can think of, the only thing he wants right now.
He wishes for Henry, for friendship.
For forever.
And that's where their story starts.
