Summary
After Brennan's emotional exit from the Jeffersonian one evening, Angela sends Booth after her to find out what's wrong. What Brennan has to tell him is unexpected in many ways. Brennan's been hiding something that formerly would have been something she'd have readily shared with Booth - something life-changing and difficult she should never have had to deal with alone. But their relationship doesn't allow for the closeness needed. Not anymore. And neither of them are in a place where they seem to be capable of not hurting the other. Perhaps the relationship isn't salvageable at all.
