Summary
Buck had no idea why he was called into the police station. He hadn't done anything, and he'd been doing pretty good keeping his jealousy about everyone getting to know and hang out with Tommy Kinard to himself, he was pretty sure, anyway. But called in to talk about something, having to do a DNA test, and then getting put in a conference room with a little girl that was obviously bored? He had no idea what was going on and just wished someone would tell him something.
Whatever.
He could just make friends with a six year old.

“I’m not leaving you, Buck.” Eddie says with a tired sigh, like he’s struggling with the weight of the world and Buck’s the one who put it there. “Just switching jobs, that’s all.”
That’s all?, Buck wants to scream, because every relationship he has is tied to the job in some way, and first Maddie left, and then it was Chimney, and now it’s Eddie. But he doesn’t scream, because that would be a little bit too tragic, even for him, and nods instead. Bites his tongue. Pretends that he isn't falling apart where he's stood.

Horrifyingly, Buck could feel himself starting to tear up. He looked away from Bobby, desperately trying to blink them away, but caught sight of the cake next to Hen and Chim.
The cake Bobby made just for him. Because he remembered something as arbitrary as a date in Buck’s file that he saw once four months ago.
Fuck.
He couldn’t cry in front of his captain.Prompt: The first birthday Buck spent on the 118, Bobby made him a cake and he was so confused as to who it was for cause no one has ever made him a birthday cake.
