Summary
Diego became a hitman after the fall of Strexcorp and his next target is Kevin, who he fell in love with back in the early days of Strex. Diego is hired to kill Kevin for a large sum of money by someone or several someones unknown. On his frenzied drive to Nightvale, Diego has to decide what to do when he finally sees Kevin again. In Nightvale, Kevin is living with Cecil and Carlos.
(This takes place after Kevin left the desert otherworld to confess his feelings for both Cecil and Carlos, and of course since they're together in this, that went well.)

“This is a secure location.”
Frederick pauses mid sentence, body stalling as his mind processes Will’s words. But no amount of thinking them through or repeating them in his head helps them make any more sense. He looks to Will’s face for some sort of indication of what he’s thinking, but finds his expression impassive. Unreadable, like it was at the hospital. Frustration and disbelief knot in Frederick’s sensitive stomach.
“You can’t be serious,” Frederick deadpans.
Instead of calling Jack and the FBI, Will lets Frederick stay.

Renfield sighs as he throws away the blood-drenched pen in a trash can a few blocks away from the hospital. He’s far enough away from both the scene of the crime and their current lair for him to feel comfortable disposing of it. He’s thankful he glimpsed it in the corner of his eye when he retrieved the hitman’s head. His Master is angry enough as is. Renfield doesn’t want to imagine how angry he’d be if a careless mistake, like leaving identifying evidence behind, led the police to them. He rubbed his forehead as he continued on to Mulates. Maybe he can pick up another pen while he ruminates on his life choices.

In a fit of loneliness and grief, Renfield retrieves Dracula's remains from the Lobo mansion and runs off with them, fully intent on reviving his Master however he can, but he's a changed man and he refuses to fall back into old habits. He concocts a way to regain his relationship with his soul-bonded partner, but he has a few stipulations he insists Dracula must follow.
