The Entities are naturally evolved species that developed multidimensional physiology that granted them the ability to manipulate the universe, they thought themselves the pinnacle of evolution, unstoppable, untouchable.
But they found something, something that upon discovering the entities, fought them and made them bleed. They took the war to all of the entities they could find, every planet these things found and entity on was raized to the core.
Thousands of their kind were eradicated from that universe, so the Entities left that universe and blocked it from their collective access.
But while they retreated, the butchers gave them something, a virus, something that took a hold of one of their Innovation shards. It was passed on until it found its creator's homeworld, and activated, bringing another soul along for the ride.
Rise, Legion Commander.
