A crew of human-adjacent nobodies are shaking up the paranormal world, picking fights with vampires they have no right to be beating. Law doesn't care about that- he just wants to keep his head down, keep his job at the hospital, keep his sanity, and keep away from his bastard of a sire. The world works against Law in horrific ways, though, and no semblance of peace lasts. At least the cute blond bartender he picks up on the way is a plus.

There friendship felt so short-lived when he was banned from going to the river where they met. But even after years of studying magic and the Arcane, Jayce would never forget the voice of the alpha he met. But it's a lot harder to bond with him once they're both older and Viktor is so focused on Jayce's findings instead of Jayce's kind of obvious crush on him.

The pirate really needs a book on child psychology and healthy ways to overcome PTSD.
