“But there must be trust,” Severus said, not whinging. He didn't whinge. “A bond… at the very least some sort of relationship between mentor and pupil for Occlumency to be taught correctly! The only bond the brat and I share is one of mutual loathing.”
“Now, Severus. Surely, you can find a way to mend broken bridges.”
Broken bridges? Broken bridges? There was no ‘bridge’ to begin with! Not with him, the carbon copy of his school bully. There had always only been damp planks slogging down a river which separated them on two opposite banks. No bridge to speak of. He already taught the brat two hours a week, had to see him every day three times a day at meal times for nine months a year, was that not torture enough?OR

Harry Potter has been having a terrible summer. Haunted by the memories of the graveyard, Cedrics lifeless body flashing in his nightmares every night, and the scene of Voldemorts revival-- he can't get a break.
It had terrified him. He had never truly been shaken before.
And the summer of 5th year, when he's suddenly taken to this supposed "Headquarters," he's shocked to learn this place is actually his godfathers childhood home.
Overjoyed by reuniting with his godfather, he still can't help but notice how horrible his condition has grown. Emaciated and pale, smelling of alcohol and musk- he hasn't been taking care of himself. And Harry doesn't want that. He's thankful that his ex-professor- Remus Lupin- and Sirius' friend has been trying to help, but its clear things arent going well.
So he takes advantage of the fact Sirius is immediately relaxed in his presence. What else is he to do but take his health in his own hands?
