    Summary

Phoenix’s heart is pounding when Edgeworth lifts his hand, but then he hesitates. In that moment of pause, Phoenix sees years of pressure weighing him down. Miles cried over folding a bad paper crane when he still had the father he idolized to tell him it was okay. Then he was fighting to be good enough in every aspect of his life, not even to be accepted, but to avoid being rebuked.

It’s okay, Phoenix wants to say. Not as a platitude but an assertion. They’re not going to be very good dancers and that’s okay.

Phoenix shoves past his own fear, past that nagging voice telling him to accept rejection. If he puts himself out there to be judged, silly and trivial as his fears may be, then maybe he’ll show Edgeworth how to do that too.

    “Can I have this dance?”

Maya wants to be Franziska's plus one to the annual Policeman's Ball, which would leave Edgeworth without someone to keep him company through an event he's been dreading. If only there was a spiky haired defense attorney with no life who could do it...

    Summary

“You should take a date to your fundraiser."
“Yes, perhaps you’re right. It would be improper to invite someone under false pretence, mind, and for my patient to understand, the evidence would need to be… compelling.”
“Perhaps an ex-girlfriend,” Will says, unsure why the thought makes him feel flat and remote.
    “That would be incredibly inappropriate.”
“A friend then. Someone you can explain the problem to. You could take-”
    “You,” Hannibal interjects.
The words belly-flop into silence. Will’s mouth opens, and then closes, and then opens again.

When Franklyn's advances of friendship become too much for even Hannibal to politely ignore, he enlists Will's help.

    Summary

After escaping his tutors one morning, a twelve-year-old Will Graham finds himself wandering the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. There, he meets a strange man with a curious fascination for Botticelli and a sketchbook filled with nothing but the Primavera rendered over and over in reverent strokes of graphite.

    Summary

After their fall, the little yellow house Hannibal brings them to is a charmed space. It’s easy to forget there, when Will is in the mood for forgetting.

In the Pennsylvanian woods, it’s easy as breathing to ignore the life he left behind. Simple to pretend they’re the last men on earth. Molly and Jack, the murder victims and the FBI seem farther away in the sea of tall, sweet grass—an echo from someone else’s dreams. That’s their life now: Will wants to forget, and Hannibal wants to let him.

But reality has a way of asserting itself. No one can ignore it forever.

    Summary

Will Graham, sharp-eyed and sharp-mouthed, has always been a bit weird with his uncanny sense of doomed fate.

After a traumatic Christmas, floating through his masters program with the reluctant help of his friends, a chance meeting at a lecture with known Doctor Emeritus and Professor of Lithuanian Culture, Hannibal Lecter, puts him on the spot to make a change.

An invitation to see the insular Lecter Estate's nine-day celebration of the Rasos festival is just the kind of mental reset he needs. Doctor Lecter is certain of it.
