“The Galaxy Garrison sends us out to schools like yours, looking for future pilots and scientists,” Keith continued. He scanned the class, and his eyes caught on one kid, sitting in the back. Dark hair, curious, attentive eyes. There was something about the set of his features, a quiet determination that seemed at odds with the loud excitement of his peers.

There’s a lot of new information he has to learn from his non-human side, and it’s easy to get pretty confused when he, for example, grows claws whenever he’s in extreme distress, or purrs when he’s in a comfortable place.
Or when he, let’s say, starts feeling an echo of what Shiro is feeling. Like, always. At all times.
