Summary
Continuation of my Cruel Intentions series; follows Lacrimosa and is the first book. What lengths would you go for a friend? Manny and Diego find out the measures devotion costs as outside forces conspire to tear the herd and their friendship apart.
T for violence & thematic elements, lots of whump, hurt/comfort, and angst. Emphasis on Mango bromance/friendship and Diego & Peaches uncle/niece relationship are the focus as Roshan"s return causes havoc for the herd and the Bredelands. Canon-divergent AU as of the latter Ice Age sequels of IA4/5, i.e. throwing back to IA1"s tone/themes/atmosphere as much as possible, in this series; technically begins post-IA3.

"We"re all stories in the end," the Eleventh Doctor says. Here is how Manny, Diego, and Sid, and the baby, Roshan, became one of those stories in the end, a legend. Outsider PoV fic, and a fic in my CI-verse, meant as a complementary one-shot to L22. This fic features Theo, a mammoth cow OC of mine from Lacrimosa, and fleshes out her son, Damien. Both will figure prominently in my next longfic in my CI series after Lacrimosa as major characters in CI bk 1 and those following. Diego/OC, from the OC"s point of view. Dangles plot threads for CI bk 1 with Roshan"s pov at the end.
Can also be read w/o prior knowledge of my CI-verse - despite being fourth in my series listing on ao3 - since this fic is essentially a retelling of IA1 as a legend to a character"s child. In short, this fic can be read fandom-blind in terms of Ice Age and also my CI-verse, especially since it takes place from an Outsider PoV.

Crosspost of an old, old ffn fic and archiving it here on ao3 just in case because as far as I am aware ffn isn"t as keen on songfics as they once were when I began publishing on there back in 2010.
This is an old, old fic of mine - I think it predates Peekaboo! though that fic practically wrote itself - and it"s a Manny/Ellie IA2-based songfic set to "I Need to Know" (gorgeous song by the way!) from the 2007 film, Barbie as the Island Princess. Fitting, right? Because Island Princess released one year after Meltdown in 2006!

Summary
A sweeping epic, detailing firstly how Manny and Diego grew up and how their experiences in their different "societies/cultures" influenced their actions and choices in IA1. This is only the first book though, there is a novel called "Cruel Intentions" and "Lacrimosa" is a sort of prequel to/story taking place alongside it. I can"t wait to share the rest of this series with you! :)
Also, this series will prominently feature my favourite relationship/friendship circle in Ice Age - Manny & Diego & Peaches, with exploration into Peaches" closeness with Diego to the point of calling herself "half tiger."
This series is a canon-divergent AU of the latter Ice Age sequels of IA4/5, so the canon I am using to build this series is IA1 to IA3, with a character like Shira being "borrowed" from IA4 to flesh her out more in a more villainous context and with more growth and character development for her since she had *potential* just not as a romantic character. imo.
CI bk 1 is dropped; it is meant to begin post-IA3.

Summary
Two fics - one Diego"s pov, the other, Manny"s - detailing what went down in the missing years between the Meltdown and Dawn of the Dinosaurs, how and what Diego eats, and the testing of the friendship, which comes to a breaking point in the early minutes of IA3.
Potentially controversial. Also contains foreshadowing for my Cruel Intentions series, of which the foundation novel, Lacrimosa, is available to read on both ff.net and ao3, and its sequel, Cruel Intentions, is now also available to read on both ff.net and ao3. Summary
A Five+1 fic that got away from me since the +1 chapter spun into 8k words. Also will have a sequel with Diego"s pov and five times he hugged Manny and One Time that he didn"t, but that fic is kind of on the backburner for now.... I do have another Mango vignette to add, and now that Lacrimosa is complete, I"ll try and get the Diego pov for Five Times Diego Hugged Manny and One Time He Didn"t worked on in between getting ready to drop CI bk 1 on both ffn/ao3.

Diego/Manny is such an underrated Ice Age ship and needs written more I swear. IA1 made it clear they had something special together and whilst I primarily write them bromantically or along the lines of "deep friendship", I wish there were more slash fics of them!! Also this fic is very poignant and hits along some of the same lines I"ve been thinking because you can very easily read it, through a certain lens, of IA3, that Diego decides to "head out" because he"s got these latent feelings for Manny and he can"t take it any longer on top of his out of shape issues?
Please someone tell me that this interpretation isn"t just in my head because IA3 skewed heavily biased in favour of Mango (Manny/Diego) and even from first watch I picked up on how just *UST-y* the interactions between them are... part of me really wishes Blue Sky had leaned into that a bit more because there was always "something" between Manny and Diego from as early as IA1 and so it"s very easy to write IA3 or IA1 fics with the subtleties of said irresistible draw these two have for and with each other....

Words cannot say how glad I am that someone finally, finally wrote that prompt I made long ago on ffn! And this is such a lovely, well-written, exquisitely beautiful and heartwarming and emotional take on it! I see a lot of Dickens ("A Tale of Two Cities" especially with regard to Diego"s being "recalled to life" at the end of IA1) in Diego"s IA1 arc so this title and this execution of this prompt is just *chef"s kiss*

Mango slashy angst. This fic always makes me cry dammit :") So lovely to see a very direct Mango slash fic other than The Weather"s Fine, Mango is very underrepresented wrt slash fics and exploration of their friendship/relationship in general so that makes this fic an automatic win and I love it so much because it"s emotional and sad and wonderful and told so well in just a few words. :")

Again, a wonderful, beautifully written fic and I love how it explores the complexities of Manny and Diego"s friendship/relationship in light of IA1 with a thorough exploration of Diego"s pov of life within the pack and how much Manny"s kindness and character impacted him in IA1.
I am such a sucker for Mango friendship or slash in any facet and this really fits the bill I love it. <3

Oh my how I love this gift-fic for me so much!! Manny/Diego is such an underrated pairing, whether it"s slash or bromance or friendship and this fic hits all the right beats for them and is a wonderful rare slashy Mango fic (they need more!!!)
