Red Son hadn’t thought about when he would see them again.
Truthfully, he didn’t expect the two of them to miss his company, let alone acknowledge how rarely they saw each other now, aside from the world-ending threats that pushed them to work together, he wanted to laugh, or mock them for thinking that way, how ridiculous! He was their bitter enemy not too long ago, how naive could they be?
But the one thing stopping him from doing that was the alarming revelation that he felt the same way.
Those fools had grown on him. Much to his horror.
This was a problem.
(AKA a post-S3 S4 chimera fic where Red Son starts falling for heroes, and said heroes start falling for him too)

“So… uh, I really don’t mean to pry or anything…” Sandy trailed off, twiddling his thumbs, “but… why are you still here?”
Azure lowered his cup, blinking in his confusion, Sandy elaborated hastily after.
“N-not that you’re not welcome here!” He added, taking the time to stroke Mo who had jumped up onto his lap, “I love having company, and you’re super polite for a guy who tried to kill us, but I just don’t understand why you haven’t… well, moved on, now that you’re back on your feet.”
