Summary
Everything was overtaken by nature, now, homes fallen to thick vines and trees erupting from the grounds in what most of the survivors call the cataclysm. Four months ago, the first person to be overtaken by this strange mutagen had emerged, survivors having to band together in groups to kill their loved ones to prevent being turned as well. Even the Metaverse was affected, shadows free-roaming and most of them just as infected. Amidst all of this, Ren was trying to make his way to Tokyo.

Sumire falls unconscious, and Maruki holds her carefully in a bridal carry. "Please don't judge her." He tells him, and Ren is unable to move a muscle. "People deal differently with different trauma, and this is what's best for Yoshizawa-san." A pause. "You know, despite you standing against me, you aren't excluded from the people I wish to save... won't you accept my reality for your own happiness, as well as hers? Or we could make a deal," he offers. "You have dreams, don't you? I can make them true if you join us."
Ren blinks, more worried with the unconscious Sumire than whatever the palace ruler was saying. "...no. Dr. Maruki, don't you see that this isn't the way to go about things like this?"
Maruki sighs. "...I really didn't want it to come to this, but I guess you won't back down without a fight after all. I'm against it, but, well, needs and ends and all that."

The boy seemingly had no money and too much pride, and so she wordlessly washed his clothes and gave him food and kindness, and he was back the next day.

Lupin took a step towards KID, humming. "Stealing the painting in three days, such an easy riddle this time," he murmured, claws brushing against the lower jaw of the magician.
KID didn't dare to move. He'd not said as such explicitly, but Lupin was quite correct that that was the day he'd planned on absconding with the gaudy thing, symbolism and all. "Well, now that I've an audience worth impressing," he said, glad that his voice remained steady despite the staccato of his heart.
"Quite. Thou've made this rote trip much more alluring for my Joker all of a sudden," The persona breathed, fire licking up the edges of his mask-face and making KID weak in the knees--
then he disappeared, leaving the room all the colder for it. KID wheezed. Fucking-- that had been unexpected. And had sounded like --
