“Do you trust me?” Tim yells over the roaring of the vortex, a piece of the metal sheet of the roof caving in, just barely missing them as it clatters down to the void.
“Is that an appropriate question to answer right now?!”
“Yes!”
Damon scowls, hand slipping in Tim’s grip. “Then no!”
He figured that would be his response. Tim laughs, “that’s too bad,” he lets go of the railing but he doesn’t let go of Damian.

The man had appeared to him, late at night, his golden eyes peering at him from the darkness. Dokja thought it was his sleep paralysis demon coming to finish what his father started, laying on the floor, breathing through his mouth as he chokes on the blood sliding down his mouth, and dripping from his nose in a small puddle.
“Kim Dokja,” he whispered, kneeling before his battered form, eyes wide and hand hovering over him. Kim Dokja was busy trying to figure out if the demon that haunts him just became real or if God sent down his scariest angel just to torment him a little longer.
The man touches his cheek, couldn’t flinch if Dokja wanted to, his hands are cool. Dokja preferred it that way, his mother’s hands are cold, and his father’s hands are hot iron of hell fury— taking it out on any living being in the vicinity.

And that simple sentence is enough to shatter the peace and monotone of Dick’s day. The bright blue screen swirling until a tiny dot, until Dick can remember to blink or breathe as the woman’s words seem to have taken a physical form and rip the air from his lungs with her bare hands.
“What?” Is the pitched word that slips from his pressurized lungs and from his lips.
