God knows it’s the longest, most quiet minute Jayce has ever experienced. Eventually, Viktor clears his throat. “Were you…Were you serious? About me joining you for Christmas?”
It's so quiet that Jayce almost misses it.
At some point, he also reminds himself to inhale. “Of course!” he breathes. “Viktor, I, I don’t want you to be here by yourself.”
A faint frown tightens Viktor’s brow again, deeper than the last, but it’s gone as soon as it appears. He sighs and nods, almost to himself. “Thank you, I…I will take you up on that offer. If that’s okay, of course, with your family.”

College!AU - Jayce realises that Viktor will be spending the Christmas alone at the university. He invites him to spend it with the Talis family, instead. Apparently, the word "partner" can have all kinds of meanings.

Viktor steps away, turning around and resuming his path toward his house. Footsteps follow behind, but Jayce doesn't say a word. He stops. The footsteps behind him stop. He walks again. The footsteps resume.
Viktor spins around. “Is there something else you were needing?”
Jayce looks almost sheepish. “This is going to sound weird. I promise I am not creepy like this ever, but I am pretty sure I dreamt about you last night.” He points toward Viktor’s backpack. “Also, your backpack is glowing.”

Viktor knows Jayce as the face on the piltie papers that somehow make their way into the undercity. He never expected to start having weird dreams about him, or for Jayce to have those same dreams as well.

Viktor tapped the pregnancy test. “I’m pregnant.”
His lab partner opened his mouth, then closed it. His brow furrowed. The man was at a loss for words.
“And it’s yours,” Viktor added for clarity.
Viktor could see the exact moment Jayce’s brain was turned back on, hear the sound of the cogs turning, and imagine the steam coming out of his ears.
“I—” the factory took a break. One, two, three seconds, then resumed working, “Is this good?”
Or, Viktor manages to avoid teen pregnancy but still gets pregnant by a man he's not dating.

Jayce's breath catches in his throat when his gaze locks with a pair of amber eyes.A man stands above, framed by the shadows behind him and neon haze below. His gaze is razor-sharp, cutting through the chaos of the casino as though searching for something– or someone. The noise around Jayce seems to fade, the vibrant lights and moving bodies melting into a blur.
The man doesn’t look away. His presence is magnetic, his features angular and striking. Cheekbones jut beneath pale skin, sharp enough to carve stone. His suit is a masterpiece of black and white, intricately embroidered with roses and thorns that catch and refract the neon lights below. He is elegant, yet there was an edge to him, a precision in the way he stands that feels predatory.
Jayce's breath hitches. The man was enthralling, but there was something else- something dangerous about him.
