    I hear the drip-drip-drip of both tears streaming down my face and of hunger salivating past the demon’s spider-like teeth, slow and grisly. His footsteps thud softly, long legs bounding across the room in a moment’s notice, his heaving breath already just a metre away in the time it takes for me to count to five.

    A man with a tengu mask arrives in time to save me, and this is the part where I realise that maybe this second life won’t be as easy as I thought it’d be.

    You ignored the question and you slapped his hand away. Shooting up from where you sat, you charged at the collar of his top and intimidatingly hauled him closer to your angry expression. He finds it adoring, you see it, his eyes almost sparkled at the mere distance you initiated.

    Well, screw him.

    “I’m not that easy to break, you psychopath.” You spat with venom. “You're an insufferable, intolerable prick. Take the hint: I’m not interested. Find some other creature who is sick as you and leave me be.”

    He gives you a knowing look. “How can I do that when you’re the only one who can make my heart beat?”

    Being reborn literally decades before canon events fucking sucked.

    Senju Tsunade wants what she was previously denied: a long, peaceful life, a family that loves her and a job that brings her purpose. Instead she gets life as a career killer, a family destined to die before she reaches adulthood and no job prospects that wouldn't include murder.

    Awesome.

    This story was tailored to create a believable romance for Orochimaru that neither redeems him nor portrays him as a toxic, possessive, obsessive monster. The first part of the story will focus on Tsunade to show how she becomes the sort of person that could have a relatively healthy relationship with someone like him.
