Summary
Long ago, Diavolo married the Morning Star, Lucifer. The two ruled the Devildom together as kings. The Devildom had achieved its goal to unite the three realms in peace and understanding, and all that was left was to enjoy one another's company.
Then, Lucifer's candle had burned out. In an effort to save his life, Diavolo gave what was left of his. His too burned out not long after, and both kings were buried together in the Mausoleum for eternal rest.
The two love each other in death. However, on the surface, there is a young CEO named Diavolo who inherited Corvo Hotels from his father. He has a childhood best friend named Lucifer, a college professor for the local university.
The only one who knows who they used to be is Barbatos, Diavolo's loyal attendant, but he cannot tell them himself that they used to be kings. He will wait for them to remember. He made this reality for them, after all.

Rui chuckled with the voice on the other end when something caught his attention: a strange sound coming from the right side of the garage, where the door was. He paused, turning his head to look.
It was hardly visible in the dim light. A black, clumpy liquid. It crept into the room – or at least, he thought it did, it was difficult to tell from how scantily it traversed – from the space underneath the door. Rui squinted, watching diligently, barely paying mind to the - now awkward - silence coming from Tsukasa’s end.
It took him off guard when the liquid twisted violently, suddenly jutting from underneath the door. It seemed to be struggling to pull itself in entirely, the rest of its form outside the door. Rui immediately jumped up from his seat.
“Rui? Is everything alright?”
An infection had begun spreading throughout the city and Tsukasa was tired. Death and the arguably worse counterpart to it had been rampant. He just needed to get a cure, right?
