Xiao found himself suddenly struck with the longing to paint him. He’d never held a brush in his life, but surely if he tried hard enough he could preserve some sense of this ethereal beauty that looked at him with so much fondness it hurt.

Jayce blinks. “What?”
“It is overgrown. You look like a poorly maintained garden.”
“Are you calling me a shrub?”
“It is not the worst thing," Viktor teases, wry. Then his smirk fades into something more thoughtful. “You have … changed, yes. You are rougher around the edges now. You look—” He hesitates, words faltering before settling on, “—like you have lived.”
And Jayce wonders how much longer he’ll be able to hold himself back.

Viktor stumbles upon a secret in Jayce's sketchbook—pages filled with sketches of him—and Jayce panics. It doesn't go as expected.

"I just . . ." Jayce shakes his head. His voice is low, almost apologetic. "I don't want to make things harder for you, V."
"You make everything harder, Jayce."
A beat passes. Then another. Maybe five. "Do I really?"
Viktor's expression softens for a moment. He nods his head; so slight it could be missed. "Yes," he says grimly. "It is your greatest talent."
Then Viktor surges up on his toes and crushes his mouth against Jayce's with all the desperation of a starved man.
Jayce and Viktor get into an argument. Somehow, they end up with their hands down each other's pants.

"Do you feel me?" He whispers. His eyes land on the glowing crevices, little and shallow slits on his skin that glowed and pulsed. Consumed and entranced by them, long fingers moved from his hip to the narrow fissure above it. It seemed to react to his touch, its pulsating glow intensifying and emitting a strange, energetic, eerie sound.
Jayce slides his ring and middle fingers along the curve and, in one single motion, pushes them in.

But then Kaveh had tried—Archons it was so hard and humiliating and horrifying that he’d had to feel things—and started initiating the little touches, kisses on Alhaitham’s cheeks and forehead and little endearments that made him want to crawl into a hole both to squeal about how Alhaitham looks when he receives them and to die of embarrassment.
That, possibly, was the point of no return. Alhaitham had tried and tested the waters, and upon finding Kaveh willing, trapped him and never let him go.
Not that Kaveh’s complaining, exactly, but…
Fuck, it’s so embarrassing.

Tighnari leveled a piercing stare at Alhaitham in return. "I think you both must've fallen out of the Stupid Tree and hit every branch on the way down." He shook his head. "Come on, Alhaitham! At some point, one of you is going to have to say something!"Alhaitham figures out his sexuality at fourteen years old. It takes Kaveh nearly twice as long. That doesn't stop Kaveh from making out with Alhaitham all over Sumeru in the interim.
