Summary
Jackie really wasn’t much different from other girls in her grade. She follows the latest fashion trends, follows up on the newest gossip, and even has a handsome boyfriend. So really, truly, Jackie wasn’t much different from the girls in her grade, at least on the surface. Jackie tries to ignore her big, massive problem that can’t seem to go away since it looms over her like a constant shadow and seemingly always finds a way to steadily crawl into her life and inconvenience her. Her inconvenience just so happens to emerge in the full moon's light. For most, the full moon isn’t much, but for Jackie, it’s the thing she plans her entire schedule around as well as dreads the most. Since, yeah, Jackie lied, she isn’t like most girls by a long shot. Ever since the summer of 1994, Jackie’s been hiding a colossal secret from everyone: she’s a werewolf.

Summary
“If it gets too heavy, if they don’t find shelter, they could die out there.”
It’s too loud in the dark room. The silence that meets Shauna has her longing for a night light to make sure that she’s not in some endless abyss. There’s the bright crack on the windowpane that forms the only thing to hold on to, since Jackie doesn’t offer her any comfort with softly-spoken words or a hand to hold. Maybe that was to be expected. The insinuation was there. Briefly, Shauna’s thoughts entertain themselves by trying to remember if there is such a thing as murder through negligence, and if she could live with that knowledge. When she dwells upon uncomfortable ideas of her future, she resigns herself to sleep.
And dreams of summer.

Summary
Jackie and Shauna played this game once before. In the wilderness, in their minds, a game of cat and mouse raged between them.
Perhaps in this case it was more a game of fox and rabbit.
Either way, one was the prey evading and avoiding, and the other was the predator stalking and obsessive.-
Or, my take on a Jackie lives scenario, except they still don’t talk.
