“If you didn’t want me to tease you,” Bucky said, “then you shouldn’t have told me about your chick flick dream.”“Chick…flick?” Steve’s forehead creased in an uncomprehending frown. His face seemed to make that expression a lot ever since he woke up in the future. It would be nice if he and Bucky could discover the future together, but in between Hydra brainwashing and reprogramming, Bucky had somehow managed to acquire pop culture.
“Romantic comedy movies targeted to women,” Bucky explained.
Rather than asking yet another question, Steve wrote down ‘romantic comedy’ on his list of things to catch up on in this new century.
“It sounds like a rom-com plot,” Bucky continued. “You were sitting there, drawing pictures of you and Tony Stark, thinking about how much you missed him?”

The moment Tony saw the spell take form, he barreled towards his teammate to intercept the flash of purple light. Too late did he remember that: 1) if there was a team member that didn't need his protection, it was Thor a.k.a. the near-invincible alien god, and 2) the Iron Man suit provided zero defense against magic.
“Oh, crap,” was Tony’s succinct observation before he was completely engulfed in sparkly purple light.

V. plausible, moving picture of Hugh Davenant's lifelong relationship with (and love for) Justin Alastair.
Re-reading Davenant's parts in Georgette Heyer's These Old Shades is so much better after reading this story. This does spoil the plotpoints for These Old Shades and its next generation sequel, Devil's Cub. (Devil's Cub only has a brief allusion to Davenant, alas.)Dear, dear Hugh ;_; <333
Probably can be read on its own as m/m pre-Regency romance. (But why would you want to? Georgette Heyer is QUEEN.)
