“Together with my co-hosts, Tubbo and Ranboo, we’ll be taking another look at the age-old question—are ghosts real?”
“Well, obviously not,” Ranboo pipes in, leaning against a cranky fencepost that looks about seven seconds from toppling over. “But it’s nice you think that.”
Or: Paranormal investigators aren’t supposed to be demons. No one told Ranboo that. Tommy and Tubbo are clueless.

Summary
Tommy, quite honestly, doesn’t know what to do about this human. He’s sure in the past he would’ve loved to banter with him as he did any of his settlers, but his mind is far too slow for a witty response.
“No. I am the Deity of Souls.” He glances at the remains of his city. “This is my home.”
Scar gives him a skeptical side-eye. “O-kay. I’ve not heard that one before. Lady Death, sure, but not a soul god. Are you... are you sure?”
In indignation, his mind snaps into focus much faster than he could’ve imagined. “What do you mean am I— of course I’m sure!”
Or: Scar stumbles upon Tommy, Deity of Souls, in the Deep Dark amidst a warden apocalypse (which may or may not be Tommy’s unknowing fault).

Well that explained the fleeing pokémon. There, by the edge of the lava lake, just steps away from the rhydon’s hoard of treasure, was the human that golbat had warned about. Scar’s first concern was the diamonds.

Summary
It’s almost pathetic how easily Tommy’s body curls into a ball, knees pressed tight to his chest. It’s like instinct. Like surrender.
Tommy came to college to escape his past, but part of it has resurfaced.
This is better than that, he tries to assure himself. This is nothing like bruises on his ribs, hands around his collar, or awful words spat at him.
Besides, he’s an adult now, isn’t he? He’s eighteen. He’s supposed to be all grown up.
So why does he feel so much like a child?
or, Tommy thought he could forget the things that happened to him in high school. In the middle of his terribly lonely freshman year at university, it all comes back to haunt him in the form of one history major with pink hair.

Summary
The egg shudders. The oddest fry that Philza has seen in his life bursts through. Easily ten times bigger than any that hatched in his pod, it doesn't have any scales, and is missing an entire set of fins. Those that it does have are sharp and hard, nothing like Philza's own.
But none of that matters the moment that he looks in the hatchling’s eyes. For the first time in forever there is something else in his heart but a gaping hole. It's like he wakes up from an unending nightmare and sees in aching clarity what he has known since he found the egg abandoned to the ocean’s mercy, much like he was.
This is his fry. His son.
