Summary
Jack thought John Marston was dead, until he wasn’t.
Black clouds swelled with rage and lightning slashed across the sky. Nature howled in fury for it sensed once again a great disturbance and spewed forth from the churning skies a force so strong it could stir the dead. A gnarled hand broke through the surface of dampened soil, rising to the supernatural call of the elements that tolled throughout the country like a bell. Knives of rain lashed against the emerging creature. The cold water searched to draw out heat, but on John's body it could find none, for there was no warm life pumping beneath the remains of his grey flesh.

Summary
Upon the announcement of the 125th annual Hunger Games, the 5th Quarter Quell, it was stated that the number of tributes would be doubled, and nothing more. However, as the tributes are lifted into the arena, they are met with a twist no one saw coming.
Some tributes fled, while others scrambled towards the cornucopia. As the first tribute was slain, and another seemed to explode, the arena turned from only slightly overcrowded to more chaotic than any year before. After barely minutes of fighting, the living tributes stopped fighting to protect their own lives and fled the area. But after a few weeks in the arena with an abnormally small number of tributes dying, the remaining tributes are shocked to see an uneven number of tributes displayed in ‘the fallen’.
Do the tributes band together to try and solve the issue that is gradually making the gamemakers more inclined to just kill them all and call off the games, or do they scramble to kill as many of their fellow tributes as possible after the threat of killing your partner seemingly disappears? Did it disappear at all, even? Or will, after 124 years, this be the first Hunger Games to conclude without a victor having ever been crowned?
