The sound of mersong became louder and in it, something whispered to Harry. It was not the voice from within that tempted you to throw something, jump, or open his mouth. It was similar in nature, but most definitely not his own.
“Shhh,” it soothed, “It’s okay now, we’ve got you. You’ll be alright.” The words curled softly around his ears with no defining attributes. He thought, though, that it sounded similar to the whispered hush of the lake’s waves on the shore.
“Just let go. We’ll take care of you, child.” And he believed it.

His magic spread out and searched for an adequate candidate to be the action of the boy’s desire.
Ancient power stirred beneath the searching, pleading brush of young magic and rose to the call in answer, humming with sudden protectiveness for a child that was already marked to be under its care in the future.

Summary
He blinked to clear whatever must have gotten in his eyes to cause this. Was it the goop of the soul wisp? Did spirits actually goop things like in Ghostbusters? But all that came of his attempts was a slight difference. Not a complete clearance of the dark but an addition like holes poked into a box, the difference between the black of the empty night sky and the addition of stars. Celestial bodies graced his own eternal night in the form glowing orbs of different colours and sizes in front of him. Not as many as the stars but definitely more than what was there before. Aside from that? Nothing, a darkness he had never known before now filling his vision. His hands tightened almost painfully around Sirius' arm.

I had plans for these stories, but I didn't get to them like I wanted and I have to go away for awhile. I didn't know when I'd come back and I didn't want to leave what I had unread.

Remus had never felt quite like a girl, which made sense, because she’d been a werewolf since age five. It hadn’t occurred to Remus that maybe this had more to do with him, in fact, not being a girl at all.
(In which the Marauders get up to their usual shenanigans, Lily tries to save the day, and Remus makes some exciting self-discoveries).
