Three years have passed since Andrea decided to leave her position as Miranda's personal assistant. The young woman's departure not only deeply affected Miranda but also made her realize, too late, that she was in love with Andrea. However, pride and the hurt from the unexpected departure in Paris prevent the editor-in-chief from seeking out the journalist and revealing her feelings.
To cope with her emotions, Miranda starts writing letters that will never be sent to Andrea. Unexpectedly, these writings are discovered and eventually find their way into the hands of the young journalist.

Summary
Miranda studied the tie closest to Nigel’s wrist, a patternless option in tangerine. She picked it up and beckoned Andrea over with a bend of one finger. Once close enough, she draped the tie over her assistant's left shoulder to compare it against the large apricot-toned hibiscus on the print of her blouse. It was exactly the color she was looking for, and as Miranda smoothed the fabric with her hand, she could feel Andrea’s heart thundering beneath her palm. A pink blush crept up her chest and neck, and as it made its way to her cheeks, Miranda silently admired how lovely the hue was there.
