"I'll stitch you up when you are back to consciousness" she mumbled, completely wrapped up in the dressing of the wound. So much so that she did not notice the voice that addressed her, at first.
A female voice with a very distinct American accent. The voice sounded exhausted, parched, low, but strong.
"If you're talking to me, you're going to have to speak English sweetheart"
Caitlyn's eyes widened as she looked up from dressing the wound and cerulean eyes found the greyest ones she had ever seen, sending a rush through her that she was unfamiliar with.
Then, Caitlyn spoke.
English this time, laced with a light French accent.
"I told you your wound would need to be stitched up when you were to wake" she simply informed her, ignoring how heart her started pounding yet again.

During the summer of 1943, Caitlyn rescues US Air Force pilot Violet McAdams from a plane wreck in the French country side, and decides to hide her on her farm to allow her wounds to heal properly.
Neither of them in prepared for the romance that follows this foolish, yet courageous decision.

Vi musters all of the finesse she has left in her body and manages a grin. She bends slightly at the waist even though she’s sitting, miming some sort of deep bow of reverence. “Your highness.”
“My oh my!” Snow White gushes, turning back to Powder. “Powder, your sister is handsome like a prince. And with the manners of one, too.”

“Caitlyn,” she says. That isn’t right. That wasn’t the answer Vi was after. Names are easily given away but so seldomly remembered in Stillwater, but it echoes in Vi’s head. She almost doesn’t hear the actual answer. “And though I have no doubt a thousand people have given this answer before, I did nothing. I was doing my job, and then I was here. No trial. No sentencing. No crime to speak of.”

All Vi wanted was a day off.
Just one day where she could slip off her gauntlets, put up her feet, and relax. Maybe she would let Caitlyn take her out to one of those fancy Piltover spas that he had always talked about. If it would make Caitlyn happy, she’d allow herself to get pampered, albeit begrudgingly.
But today, like always, was not a relaxing day.===============================
Vi and Caitlyn venture into the alleyways of the newly independent Zaun, with the hopes of finding a serial killer whose gruesome murders of three criminals in the last week sent a shockwave through the region, reaching both Piltover and Zaun's criminal underground. Fearing that her sister could be the next target, Vi enlists Jinx's help in finding the culprit.
Sevika, a few months after taking over the criminal syndicate after Silco's murder, faces her biggest test yet. When one of her own is savagely turned to shreds, Sevika sets off to prove her strength to the rest of Zaun's criminal underworld as she begins to battle the realization that Silco may have trusted her less than she initially thought.
All the while, a beast prowls, haunted by memories that aren't his own.

“I’m not paranoid! I’m... we’re from below. You know everyone is out to get us. Topsiders and the others from the undercity. They always have been. Every one of them!” Jinx shouts. She's trying to focus, but the whispers are getting louder and the shadows are creeping back in.
“I had to be stronger to survive. I had to be strong enough to do it on my own. You weren’t there and I... had to be better. Better for Silco. Good enough to help him. He was the only one there and he didn’t have anyone else. He needed me and I had to be good enough not to get in the way,” Jinx tries to scream, but her throat croaks out the words instead. Vi’s eyes soften.
“So let me be there for you now that he’s gone. Let me help you chase the monsters away just one more time,” Vi offers, holding her hand out. Jinx looks away. Chains are rattling around the room and she wants to scream at them to stop. She wants Vi to fight back.
She needs so badly for her to fight back.

Jinx always thought she was in control, but lately it has been harder to figure out what's real. When everything breaks, she discovers the truth is far different then she expected, and the family she longs for isn't lost forever after all.Series
