Summary

Mukami Kou is more desperate than he can remember being in his vampiric life. With his family's benefactor dead, Yuma injured and his idol days have been cut short by a career-ending scandal forcing him from the public eye, the Mukamis are easy targets for any upstart non-human who wants to bully them off their turf. In the wake of impending poverty, he has no choice but to resort to the methods of his youth.
Sakamaki Subaru is now the most powerful person in the two realms, and he'd give anything to be rid of it. With little stomach for diplomacy and little patience for bureaucracy, the weight of the crown threatens to crush him entirely. Yui, his purported 'bride', does her best to support him, but there's only so much a human girl can grasp about vampire governance.
Kou needs power, and protection. Subaru needs companionship, sanctuary. Each has something the other lacks.
If only it were that easy.

Min-Jun meets his eyes steadily. Then, falls to his knees in front of him, the way Jan has thousand times before. He hears the way Jan’s breath hitches, but he presses on, unable to pause for fear of losing his nerve. He has to know. Reaching out, Min-Jun takes his hand in his own, savouring the feeling of it: warm and solid, rough with callouses yet somehow impossibly gentle- always so gentle- with him. Sucking a shallow breath in through his teeth, he lowers his head, brushing his lips across his knuckles. He has no sword of his own to lay at Jan’s feet, but he offers himself up just the same. It should feel shameful, to debase his status like this. It doesn’t. It just feels like admittance- perhaps even surrender.
’I love you.’ He thinks desperately.
“I need you.” Min-Jun says instead. It’s close enough.
