Several weeks have passed since Lucifer returned to the world, unexpectedly and so suddenly that for the longest time Sandalphon wakes up in the morning believing it has been a dream.
This dream however is reality and every morning he follows the scent of coffee – so nostalgic that it makes him almost too jittery to enjoy it – to find sunshine greeting him in his own cafe, with a smile and a voice he missed like a limb for so long.
But after every dream, and once the elation of them all settles into joyful routine, the harsh truths of waking don't wait for the dreamer to find his footing and continue on as mercilessly as ever.

“I asked you about this scar months ago,” Flynn eventually says, voice unbelievably soft. “You said you didn’t remember where you got it from. It was obvious that you were hiding something, but I didn’t want to push things.” Flynn’s hand curls into a fist on top of him and from the tremors that follow, Yuri realises that it’s trembling. “I never would’ve imagined…”
Flynn finally looks at him. “Yuri,” he breathes. “Yuri, why didn’t you tell me?”

Crow rolls his eyes and props himself up so their hips slide together in this achingly slow motion. “What part of dying tomorrow don’t you get? Stop over-complicating it, Rean. Let’s just do this.”
And so they do.
