It's odd, Izuku thinks, to celebrate one's birthday by wishing that they ease their burdens and lift their hearts.
And it all leads back to Aizawa, doesn't it? To the Keeper. To the god of death.
Izuku wonders how he feels about all of this—festivals and rites that don't really have anything to do with him. The people's wishes don't have anything to offer but burdens.
How does it feel, he thinks, to only be asked of and not asked after?
Running a finger over the white flower resting behind his ear for safekeeping, Izuku wonders. He can't get the man out of his thoughts, not with how desperately he wishes to do... something. To apologize, to make up for it, somehow.
Maybe, he can start there.
Maybe, for the Keeper, it'll be enough.

The surrounding world shrinks away.
His head hurts.
Shouta can hardly stand on his two—four?—feet, wobbling about when he lands on the concrete. His feet feel like leathery pads, his tongue like sandpaper.
Nothing about his body feels right. Padding on his feet, fur on his legs, walking on all fours—and like the strangest extension of his body, Shouta might be moving a tail.
The woman is saying something to the boy who looks up, a bit dazed. Then, Shouta is lifted up from under his arms.
"Hey!" he cries out. But it's not words that leave his mouth.
He meows.

Summary
Izuku wakes only with the knowledge of his name and vague useless facts about the world around him. He carries on, making friends and learning what he can of where, who and what he is within the mortal realm ruled by the gods.
He learns of the world’s doom, his friend’s plight to prevent it and discovers his memories locked away in stones of worship.
Among the revelations of a several thousand year power struggle and the truths that lie between realms, Izuku discovers that he cannot allow his friend to suffer alone and endeavors to give his all to help her.
Even at the cost of his own life.

Summary
Shouta Aizawa was not happy. As the youngest son of King Nedzu, it fell to him to make the marriage their kingdom needed to seal a deal for the soldiers, food, and medicine they needed after running off a neighboring kingdom during a long and bloody war. His eldest sister, Kayama, and older brother, Kan, already married to solidify alliances with their strongest allies at the beginning of the war, now it's Shouta's turn in the noose.
He was very impressed with the green headed clerk, Zuk, who greeted him upon arrival. The man had given him a tour of the palace, acted as translator when he met King Hisashi and Queen Inko, and done everything to put Shouta at ease. Now, as he gets ready to go to the dinner to meet his betrothed, he asks his guide what he can do to not offend the man instantly. The smile he gets in return is confusing, but suddenly makes sense when he's seated next to Crown Prince Izuku. The bright smile his fiancé greets him with is met by Shouta's pout. It's a good thing Izuku's cute!
