In all honesty, it is Paul’s fault entirely. He had been the one to say he didn't need this. He had been the one to tell Feyd to keep his distance in the first place. He'd also been the one to let prickly arousal and irrational impatience win over the meagre boundaries they had.
As if what they had done two years ago wasn’t fucked up enough already, Paul just had to make it that much worse. He really is unredeemable.

You settled calm for the first time in weeks.”

Paul doesn’t knock before he enters, just slips inside, looking around the room briefly before settling hopeful eyes on his father’s bed. The glowglobes brighten slightly at the activity, casting a pale yellow glow around the room. In the fuzzy light, there’s a softness to Paul, a kind that Leto isn’t often privy to, and he stands there quietly until Leto calls out to him.
