He’s standing by the stove, poking around a small pancake in the pan when he feels it; like television static clinging to his skin, it’s a small, tiny jolt of electricity dancing up and down his nerves that makes him jerk backwards, the spatula in his hand lands on the countertop with a clatter.
Raphael looks up from where he was poring over his T-Phone, brow ridge knitted together.
“Hey,” he says, setting his device down. “You good?”
Mikey picks up the spatula, tight, white knuckled grip on the handle to force his hands to stop their shaking.
He nods his head, swallowing hard.
“Uh huh. Just the oil spat at me,” he lies. “That’s all.”
He’s not entirely sure if Raph bought it or not, but he continues anyway, not bothering to turn around and face him on the account that his face usually gave him away in such scenarios.
He just finishes up breakfast and tries to ignore the voice in the back of his head that tells him that something isn’t quite right here.

Summary
Once their life was back to normal, once the Kraang had been defeated and they were able to return home, only then did those feelings and trauma he endured return. The nightmares bring him back to that terror. Shell, sometimes even when he’s awake, his brain will be convinced that he was back in Dimension X. He remembers Leo back at the barn house, seeing Shredder when he wasn’t there, hysterical as he saw the ambush on repeat even when he was safe.
Is this what it felt like for Leo? His mind and his body betraying him like this? His home feeling fake and Dimension X feeling real?
Something's wrong with Mikey. His family finally finds out.

"The lock is working." Donnie says weakly, trying to shed any positive light on the situation. "As long as you stay in the room, you can't wander. So you're safe."
"But I'm not better." Mikey argues, but there was no bite behind his words. Instead, he just sounded defeated. His eyes drop to his scarred feet, and Donnie could only describe his appearance as being exhausted. His round cheeks were abnormally sunken in and his skin had turned a few shades paler. "I'm not better, Dee."
And then Mikey breaks.

Summary
The dreams always start out the same. He’s not in the other dimension, not yet — he’s on the ship with his brothers. He’s watching Donnie take a hit, and calculating in split seconds the likelihood that any of them will get out of this at all with dread so violent in his chest it feels like the world is cracking in half in front of him. He knows— he knows, he knows. There’s only ever one choice to make, and he makes it.
Then, sometimes, the earpiece crackles to life. It’s his voice, it’s the Krangs, it’s Draxum’s and Shredder’s and everyone’s tangled together. He’s saying goodbye, but they aren’t through the portal yet— he’s miscalculated the odds and there’s no one on the other side of the line.
He’s alone even before he’s actually alone, there’s no one to even say goodbye to.
One night he wakes up, and he doesn’t remember how they got him back in the first place.
OR: Leo’s maybe not as alright as he would like to believe. It’s just that he’s been misremembering a lot of things, small sections of his brain just smoothed over somehow, missing all of the regular information.
It also just keeps happening.
