Summary
Looking back on it, Izzy had to give it to whatever Hell town they were in an acclamation. The cells in the dungeons were some of the cleanest he’d seen in a while. Sure, it smelled acrid and dank, but the guards kept to themselves and the beatings to a minimum. Izzy was thankful for this little fact. Having a few fractured ribs and a pretty deep gash in your thigh can change a man’s perspectives on mouthing off to the wrong people. He quickly found out: leave the guards alone; they’ll most likely treat you the same. If he thinks about it, the men stationed outside their cells didn’t have any reason to beat them to death or even hurt them.
They were dead men walking anyway.Aye, the gallows called to him.

Izzy and Ed get captured and sentenced to death by hanging. Oh, who will save them?!

Summary
Owning and operating a bar in District Seventeen wasn't exactly how Stede Bonnet pictured his mid-forties, but it's not like he has a lot to lose. As it turns out, District Seventeen is far more dangerous than the cushy house and world where he grew up and has lived most of his adult life. With his ragtag staff--including an Android, a cybernetically-enhanced former criminal, and a hacker--Stede is making the best of what he has.
Cue Blackbeard, the most dangerous mercenary in all of City Thirteen. Walking into Stede's bar and permanently altering the course of both their lives within the span of twenty minutes. Blackbeard has a lot to teach Stede about the city, about District Seventeen, and about being a mercenary. All under the jealous seething eye of Israel Hands, an Enforcer-turned-mercenary who would very much like to get rid of Stede Bonnet for Blackbeard's sake and his own.
This city might be a little too cold for Stede Bonnet, but at least he's not alone.
