Summary
Renjun is staring down the bottom of his empty wine glass and considering retreating into the woods to live alone as a hermit for the rest of his life by the time someone slides into the seat across from him. He doesn't bother looking up; he knows who it is.
“You know how people used to think black cats were a sign of bad luck?” he asks.
“I don’t think that applies here,” Jaemin says, folding his hands to act like a chin rest as he blinks at Renjun from across the table. “Technically, I show up after all your bad dates. Also, I love cats.” As an afterthought he adds, “Meow.”
Renjun keeps going on terrible first dates, and keeps running into the same suspiciously handsome stranger after each one. It’s like something out of a romcom, except his life is not a romcom, so he can only assume the suspiciously handsome stranger is actually a suspiciously handsome stalker. Or maybe, just maybe—
It’s fate.

Summary
A part of him wonders: how can you have met someone only twice and already feel this? This budding interest, the cautious desire sparking low in your gut. It could be a flight of fancy, or wishful thinking. Donghyuck would probably tease, crow with laughter. Say, for the millionth time, that Renjun has an uncanny tendency to fall in love twenty times a day.
And yet.
The tremble of a petal. A smile like the sun. I got this during my last layover, thinking of you.
A seedling materialises in the landscape of Renjun’s chest, blooming, reaching. Chasing the light.
(Or: Renjun has lived his whole life in his quiet, provincial town. He works at the crumbling hotel. He paints on the weekends. He's happy (enough).
And then he meets Yangyang.)

Summary
Renjun feels a spike of anxiety as Yangyang stops in his tracks again, spinning in a slow circle to take in the buildings flanking the alley. He looks down at his wrist, then back up to scan his immediate surroundings, then back down again.
It’s almost as if he’s looking for someone. As if he’s looking for ‒
Renjun’s chest seizes, first in realisation, and then in panic. The plan be damned ‒ he clicks off the safety, fingers fumbling to find the trigger, but it’s too late.
Yangyang looks up.
(Or: This both is, and is not, a love story.)

Summary
-I see that you're awake, that's great! - He watched as a black-haired boy walked up to him, carrying a fluffy blanket that looked very comfortable. - I brought this, ham... For you to keep warm.
-Why are you doing this, I'm not a prisoner or something? - Renjun questioned, afraid to take the cloth that smelled pleasantly of cinnamon.
-You are an omega, you would never be a prisoner. - The blond boy commented, without taking his eyes off the tall boy who had a wound on his arm. - We're not going to hurt you or keep you here, but look, you've had a pretty good blow to the head and I recommend that you accept the skin that the fool is giving you and stay while you recover.
He pondered, but picked it up and wrapped it around his, it was warm.
-Good... Then welcome. - The brunette in front of him smiled nervous. - I am Jeno, the future head alpha of the pack, and that one there... - His speech was broken.
-I'm Jaemin, I don't need you to introduce me, you idiot. - The blond grumbled, overtightening the patient's bandage, who groaned softly in protest.
Renjun didn't know it, but he had found a home.
